PARENTS!

PLEADINGS OF WE POOR CHILDREN........


Donkeys lead a better life, I feel
than the children do.
A life barred of all emotions,
just a dumb mind to follow.

Parents are called God
and I think
the sentence is true
even though
perceptions are different.

Sitting in a temple,
at the back of the mind
we always know
that God will never listen.

Trying to make
our parents understand,
we always know
they'll think it's a big crap.

The moment the lock clicks open
and you flung your bag on the bed
Stressed out to the 'heights of stress',
--your parents APPEAR.

AND THE SCOLDING STARTS....

They look not at your dishevelled expressions
not the tears in your eyes
but the CREASE on the bedsheet!

They see not the lingering absence,
the numb blankness of mind,
but the seconds ticking away..
showing how much time you have wasted!!

Instead of the 'hello' kiss,
it is question of physics,
or a sum of Mathematics
or even a tense of English.

Instead of eye-crinkling smile,
it is a lecture that greets you,
and a scolding that follows
and sometimes few comparisons too.

Friends call
and parents hover
right over your head
keeping an eye on you
as if on the latest
TOM CRUISE spy-film.

Interactions seem like
time wastage to our 'Gods'
and the slightest tear
or the saddening of face
seems like a steady BLACKMAIL.

Parents act like
THE PRESIDENT OF UNITED STATES
with a liberty of scolding
without a valid reason,
and a choice of ignoring
the Child's most difficult season.

Parents carefully ignore
their wrong-doings,
but child's one toe out of line
seems like an approaching felony.

Emotions don't seem to matter anymore
in this wide-world of robotics
but the fault is not in the Education Board,
the fault is in parents..

One Encouraging Smile won't harm,
one loving caress won't kill,
one second of privacy won't complicate things,
one reason for loving your child won't matter!

FOR A KID IS A KID
not a machine
and the moment
that 'the parents' will grasp this fact,
the world will be a better place;
but till then
must I say.......

might find this -----
PARENTS MAKE LIFE HELL!
