The New Us!

Revenge it is not,
irritation no reason for,
not what it looks like,
just a simple tiredness you can call it.

We are not desperate,
though we may look it.
We are not non-adjusting,
though our face might show it.

Sometimes,
you just get tired
of being that same old story
that just doesn't change!
The same old face
that just always seems the same!
The same dress
whose colours never change!

So in our quest
to be someone else,
we forget one thing...

We can change the outside,
we can turn from jeans to cheerleaders' skirts,
from T-shirts to tank tops,
from Nike shoes to jimmy choos
and someday, we will change who we are from the inside.

It is said you cannot change who you are.
Is that so?
I don't think so...

If it were,
how could what we wear
make us feel different every time we changed a dress?
How could a skirt make us feel pretty and jean sporty?
How could earings make us feel girly and arm band athletic?
How could saris make us feel graceful and gown English?

Who we are on the outside
will one day change who we are on the inside.

We want to break rules,
turn 18 and start drinking,
be someone else?

Be!

But remember!

Whatever you pretend to be,
one day,
you will be.

So break the rules and be who you want to be,
but O'fellow life finder,
choose who you would wish to be!

What you do today
will affect your tomorrow
Who you pretend to be today
you will be tomorrow.

So just think before acting,
what you are pretending to be,
do you really want that tomorrow...?

Redemption!

Another day is up and about
And the loneliness persists.

It is as strong as if I were alone.

When life becomes a constant mess,
And the only words that come to mind are
‘Get out of here!’
Depression becomes the order of the day.

Misery is comfortable
And logics take a strong mind.

When mistakes rule the world
And apologies became a daily routine,
When the mind loses its sanity
And reasons give way to cribbing.

When we become a burden on the people who love us
And we lose faith on ourselves,
That’s when the clock strikes twelve
And the truth dawns in…

Change!
Fight!
Become yourself!

The mistakes we made in the past
We cannot undo,
The time we lost,
We cannot bring back.
The things we broke,
We cannot fix them again.

But the mess we made,
We can clean it up again.
We cannot bring back the beginning
But we can give it a new beginning.

So let us redeem ourselves
Let us be the person we wanted to be.
Let us the walk the path we were meant to walk
And let us stop being afraid of our steps!

If life already is a mess,
The worst we could do
Is mess it up some more.
But if we succeed,
We could bring back the sense of self we had lost.

So let’s keep fighting!
If we lose,
We will be back to where we began.
If we win,
Ours will be the world,
And ours will be the life.

So stop fearing,
Get your gear
And get, set, go…

Because O’ faithless wanderer,
Life is too short to lose yourself
And too long if you be someone else.

So make your own way,
Set your own goals,
And walk away to the mountains that await.

For in this world,
The golden letters will fade,
But as long as you walk your way,

You shall always remain…
